Blog

Welcome to my Blog, Food for Thought!

My name is Debra Walsh, Owner of LifestyleEating.

ABOUT ME:

My parents were of Italian and Greek descent which explains my love for food. My passion for cooking developed at a young age watching my Sicilian grandmother

make homemade pizza for my family on Friday nights.

Prosperity and Preparing For the Future

Economy, Energy, and the Environment

How do we prosper in a world of pandemics,  global warming and a declining economy? In Chris Martenson, PhD & Adam Taggart's book "How to Prepare for the Future and Create a World Worth Inheriting" we learn about resiliance and how to achieve it .  We learn the importance of  aligning our actions with our present circumstances so that we can weather whatever challenges we are faced with  so  we can make the changes necessary in preparing for the future.  Because building resiliance  can give us hope knowing  that  there is the  possibility of creating a better world; a world worth inheriting.

Prepare to Survive by LifestyleEating

In the book "Prosper" the author poses the questions:

  • "What Should We Keep Doing"?
  • "What Should We Stop Doing"?
  • "What New Things Should We Start Doing"?

All of us have been caught off guard and we are suffering the consequences. What New Things Should We Start Doing? We need to  learn how  to survive by being less dependent and more self-sufficient in these uncertain times.  We need to have multiple means of meeting our needs.  Because at any moment the things we depend on and take for granted can  be taken away or no longer available.   Instead of panicking and reacting with a hoarding mentality,  let's  think about what we need beforehand,  Try  learning new skills so that you won't have to worry about not having what you need to survive.
